May 15, 1986 - A U.S. Navy Grumman F-14A-100-GR Tomcat (BuNo 160682) of Fighter Squadron 51 (VF-51) "Screaming Eagles" waits in line for a catapult aboard the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) on 15 May 1986. The other aircraft visible are LTV A-7E Corsair IIs of Attack Squadron VA-27 "Royal Maces" and VA-97 "Warhawks". All squadrons were assigned to Carrier Air Wing 15 (CVW-15) aboard Carl Vinson during the RIMPAC '86 exercise.
