Feb 14, 2013 - U.S. Pacific Fleet PACIFIC OCEAN - Five F/A-18E Super Hornets from the Royal Maces of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 27 fly together in formation over the Pacific. All twelve of VFA-27's aircraft are crossing the Pacific from their forward-deployed base, Naval Air Facility Atsugi, Japan, to Naval Air Station Lemoore in California. There, VFA-27 will transition to newer versions of the Super Hornets and ultimately return to Atsugi with the most up-to-date technologies and capabilities.
